Good to know that people are really arcing up about Labor's plan to censor the internet.
It seems there are two major types of ISP filtering: "opt-in" and "opt-out". In the first scenario, you get to make the decision. In the second, the government makes the decision for you. (Then you make yourself look like some kind of potential perve by deciding not to be part of the program.)
Needless to say, Labor's plan is "opt-out".
Ironic that so much was made of Kevin Rudd's ability to speak Mandarin during APEC, since he and his, er, mandarins are now emulating the communists of Beijing. Seems he wasn't just a fan of Chinese language and culture, but Chinese politics also.
