The proposed Perth Waterfront extravaganza is proving a tad controversial. Seems that the ginormous towers on the riverside that are the centerpiece of the project will spoil the view for many.
But it's not just the waterfront on the up and up. There's construction all through the Perth CBD.
One of the main cinema complexes in Perth -- Cinema City in Hay St -- is to be demolished to make way for a huge apartment complex. (And this is old news. It's probably well underway by now.)
When I was a teenager back in the eighties, I remember when this thing was built. It was quite an event and generated a lot of excitement. I must have seen scores -- if not hundreds -- of films there over the years.
Now it's history after only 27 years. Amazing.
Wonder how long this new block'll stay before it gets demolished to make way for an even bigger one?
